Abstract: |
A watching brief was undertaken on the foundation trenches for the north east and south sides of a replacement extension. Mostly disturbed upper layer with brick fragments, only in NE corner was there a topsoil/natural profile - relating to former single storey extension on the early 20th century house. In the south half a chalky floor/foundation layer underlay the rubble-rich soil - this might have been earlier but nothing else to suggest pre-20th century activity. [Au(adp)] |
