Abstract: |
The objective of the watching brief programme was to recover artefacts and record all archaeological features and deposits exposed during preliminary groundwork for the construction of new residential properties. Pre-demolition photographs of the building were included in the project archive. The site work included general ground level reduction as well as excavation of standard strip foundation trenches. After the initial reduction in ground level, the upper surface of the underlying geological deposits was exposed across the site and no further observation was therefore necessary. Accordingly, the watching brief was terminated. [Au(adp)] |
