Abstract: |
Evaluation trenches were excavated around and within the west tower of the abbey. Part of a Saxon period church was identified, sealing an earlier burial from a possible earlier monastic site. Further Saxon period burials were identified, truncated by the Norman Abbey cloister. [Au(abr)] |
