Abstract: |
A desk-top assessment of a proposed development site within an Archaeological Priority Area was undertaken. Roman burials and evidence of early medieval occupation, including buildings, pits and wells, had been excavated nearby. The site itself lay on the medieval foreshore of the River Thames; a borehole survey had indicated the presence of potential archaeological strata. It was concluded that an evaluation would be necessary. [AIP] |
