Abstract: |
A post-determination evaluation, consisting of 33 trenches, was undertaken in advance of coal opencasting. Previous excavations in 1994 close to the site revealed a large amount of 2nd to 3rd century Roman pottery associated with various features which suggested the presence of a domestic site. Archaeological features were revealed along the east side of the site which corresponded with features from the 1994 excavations. [AIP] |
