Abstract: |
<summary>An archaeological evaluation of the proposed site of the Ravensbank Industrial Park, to the east of Ravensbank Drive, Redditch, was carried out during October 1992. 88 test-pits were hand-excavated through the topsoil and alluvial deposits. However, no significant features or artefactual scatters were noted in the excavated holes. The development area did, however, contain areas of not particularly well-preserved, probably early 19th century ridge and furrow, and a number of disused clay extraction pits. The probability is that the clay was used for marling, as part of agricultural improvements. {italon}Au(adp){italoff} {italon}SMR Primary Record Numbers:{italoff} HWCM15403 |
