<summary>An assessment of the two alternative routes was undertaken. The work comprised a programme of fieldwalking and consultation of aerial photographs. A number of sites/potential sites and potentially sensitive areas were identified along both route corridors. The eastern route includes four sites with a direct relationship to peat deposits, which would increase the value of the sites. On both routes there are areas of peat where no sites were identified, but which are adjacent to dry land archaeology. There is a possibility of buried archaeology in these areas. {italon}AIP{italoff} |
