Abstract: |
An initial magnetometer scan and magnetic susceptibility survey were undertaken of the site. The purpose of this initial assessment was to identify areas in which there was an increased likelihood of archaeological sites or features. The report concluded that detailed magnetometer coverage of sample blocks located in the areas of high susceptibility readings at the eastern and western ends of the site (a and b), perhaps together with smaller blocks at c, d and e should be sufficient to test whether any of the more substantial responses seen in the preliminary surveys were likely to be associated with significant archaeological features, or whether they could be eliminated from further consideration.
