Abstract: |
Eight test pits were excavated at the Greene King Brewery as part of an archaeological evaluation prior to the submission of a planning application for the development of the site. Three of the test pits were positioned on the Church Street frontage with the remainder evenly spread across the site. In spite of the promising location of the site, no archaeological deposits were encountered in any of the test pits. The report concluded that it was therefore unlikely that there were any archaeological deposits surviving on the site. [Au(adp)] |
