Abstract: |
An evaluation was undertaken prior to the redevelopment of the Gordon Road/King Alfred Place site as it was thought to lie just within the precinct of the medieval Hyde Abbey, possibly just south of the cloisters. Most of the archaeological deposits were post-medieval in date, however a masonry wall was discovered and may represent part of the cloisters or an associated structure. It was decided that the site needed further evaluation work. [Au(abr)] |
