Abstract:
A watching brief was carried out at Pendennis Castle for English Heritage during repairs to the salt glazed bends of the ventilator pipes on the roof of Half Moon Battery. The ventilator pipes were uncovered at a depth of c.1.90m being buried below protective layers of sand and loam covering the concrete magazine roof. In both cases the existing ventilator pipes were replacements of the original pipes. [Au(abr)]
