Abstract: |
An archaeological desk-based assessment was carried out at Hill Mill. The first cotton spinning mill on Astley Brook at this location dated from the early 19th century and included several cottages. The mill works expanded in the late 19th century when it was bleach works. In the 20th century, Hill Mill had predominately been an engineering works. [Au(adp)] |
