Abstract: |
During the course of the evaluation features were recorded in five trenches which comprised four linear features and three sub-rectangular features of post-medieval/modern date. All the features were associated with drainage and construction of the cricket pitch and stands. In addition three test pits were excavated to the base of the gravel terrace to establish its potential to contain Palaeolithic assemblages. Deposits of fluvial gravel were recorded in all three test pits but no Palaeolithic artefacts were recovered.[Au(abr)] |
