Abstract: |
Archaeological investigations along a South West Water pipeline between Engelly and Sevenmilestone took place between November 1995 and January 1996. The results from a geophysical survey at Callestick led to the rescue excavation of a Middle Bronze Age circular structure dating between 1500-1000 BC. The structure was situated within an artificial hollow which was approximately 8 metres in diameter, with a 4 metre long porch attached to its southern side. The discovery of the structure was important because it added another type of building to the range of excavated Bronze Age structures in lowland Cornwall. [Au] |
