Abstract: |
Archaeological features and deposits were encountered in this evaluation in advance of a single-storey extension. A clay floor was located, immediately overlaying the natural brickearth. This was cut by a later pit containing Roman pottery dating to between the late 2nd and early 4th centuries. Two undated pits were also located. During the 19th century, a malting house was built over the entire area, truncating the ground surface. [Au(abr)] |
