Abstract: |
A watching brief was maintained during shaft capping operations on a former mining site. Of the two documented shafts, one could not be located, whilst the second had already been partially capped in a previous capping operation. Other ancillary features identified during the watching brief included stretches of walling representing part of a probable balance bob slot and box, retaining walls, part of the engine house and a possible flat rod slot and angle bob.
