Abstract: |
<summary>A desk-based assessment, supported by preliminary field survey, was undertaken for an area containing traces of a mid 19th century copper mine and later 19th century tin mine, which was subject to proposals for shaft-capping and land reclamation works. Very little of the industrial complex was found to have survived. Only the remains of a calciner flue, a machinery plinth, badly-damaged tailings dumps, an elevated leat, and three settling tanks were identified. Of the three shafts identified within the study area, only one was visible on the surface (as a shallow depression filled with domestic rubbish). {italon}AIP{italoff} |
