Abstract: |
An archaeological desk-based assessment was carried out. West Barr formed the medieval town limit and some buildings were recorded in the area during the 16th and 17th century. By 1775 a pair of steel cementation furnaces were constructed but were no longer mentioned in any documents after 1779. The current standing building was not considered to be of historic interest.
