Abstract: |
This report provided a summary of the results of the excavation at 5 Billiter Street. The archaeological features that survived on the site consisted of pits dating from the Roman to post-medieval periods. The original ground surfaces had been removed by a combination of extensive pitting and the construction of the previous building on the site. The results of the post-medieval assessment suggested that the early Roman pottery assemblages from the rubbish pits and cess pits could increase the understanding of the evolution of the Flavian pottery industry within the London region. The layout of these pits could also indicate the outline of the Roman properties. [Au(adp)] |
