Abstract:
<summary>A watching brief was maintained during groundworks to alleviate structural subsidence which could result from coal-mining beneath the building. A small quantity of modern pottery fragments and part of a human skull (which was given to the vicar for reburial) were recovered. The watching brief established that the area around the church had been landscaped when the church was built in the mid 19th century. {italon}AIP{italoff}
