Abstract: |
An archaeological assessment was undertaken of seventeen mine shafts at sites immediately south of Redruth and Camborne. All of the shafts either lay in close proximity to public footpaths or the Mineral Tramway route, and some were open and plainly dangerous. No Listed Buildings were affected by the proposed shaft capping works contract. The relevant shafts were to be made safe to current safety criteria under the Land Reclamation Scheme (LRS) operated by English Partnerships. [Au] |
