Abstract: |
Salvage recording was undertaken during groundworks prior to the construction of a new car showroom, reception building and car wash facility adjacent to the documented site of Droitwich Town Mill (HWCM 690). No archaeological deposits earlier than the modern period were identified. However, a great deal of disturbance and build up of modern deposits could be associated with the demolition of factory buildings and the backfilling of the canal basin. Deposits associated with the medieval town mill are more likely to survive to the immediate north of the development area, between the backfilled canal and the River Salwarpe.[AIP] |
