Abstract The abstract describing the content of the publication or report Abstract:	<summary>An assessment of the archaeological potential of the site of proposed development was undertaken on the west bank of Costa Beck. A documentary search identified that excavations and research had been undertaken in the vicinity throughout this century and at the end of the last century; this work had established that archaeological material was spread over a considerable area. A visual inspection of the bank of the beck revealed good preservation of organic material within peat layers. The excavation of a trial-trench was recommended. {italon}AIP{italoff}
