Abstract: |
Further evaluation, comprising the excavation of targeted trenches on land proposed for development within the grounds of Horncastle Residential College revealed Roman gullies and other less well-defined features. Residual worked flint, probably of late Neolitihic/Early Bronze Age date, was recovered along with fragments of Roman pottery. All the features encountered had been severely truncated by medieval/post-medieval ploughing activity. [AIP] |
