Abstract: |
A search was made of available archaeological records, historic and cartographic sources in connection with a proposed development at Clumber Street. Evidence showed that since the mid-18th century the area had become progressively built up so that the likelihood was low of any archaeological remains surviving above the bedrock. However, beneath the site was part of an extensive cave system and it was possible that other caves may exist. [Au] |
