Abstract: |
The watching brief associated with the replacement pipeline revealed significant archaeological remains extending southward from the Abbey complex. These features included an earthwork depression in the field, which was likely to represent an unlined run-off/drain of medieval date, and a possible medieval boundary. The metal detector survey did not locate any metalwork associated with the Battle of Hastings, of which the pipleline passes through the site.[Au(abr)] |
