Abstract: |
A watching brief during the construction of the pumping station revealed a peat layer from which 2 samples were taken and analysed. Wood fragments were found in the peat suggesting occupation nearby possibly from the early Bronze Age, from when the peat dates. Evidence for the geological history for the site was recovered. This fenland and salt-marsh environment would have attracted prehistoric habitation. [Au(abr)] |
