Abstract: |
An archaeological desk-based assessment was undertaken which related to the consideration of any future development of the site. The site lay within the Billericay Town Centre Conservation Area, as defined by Basildon District Council. The site did not contain any Scheduled Ancient Monuments or Listed Buildings. There were, however, numerous entries in the Essex Sites and Monument Record within the vicinity of the site. Research had suggested that there was the possibility that archaeological remains existed upon the site although geotechnical works on the site had not revealed any archaeology. It was proposed that a limited evaluation should be undertaken within the access area from Chapel Street onto the site. [Au(abr)] |
