Abstract: |
An evaluation over a large area of derelict land and car parking next to the station was undertaken in advance of redevelopment. The area covers part of the scheduled area of Rewley Abbey and structures including part of the north range, reredorter and precinct wall as well as the moat were revealed in good condition. Pre-abbey activity was also identified and a new medieval site, with high environmental potential was also located. Up to 1.2 metres of post-1850 deposits lay above these sites. [Au(abr)] |
