Abstract: |
A gradiometer survey was undertaken as part of an evaluation of land known as 'Church Field'. The survey identified a series of anomalies of archaeological potential comprising linear ditch features as well as pit type anomalies. The ditch anomalies however did not correlate well with the known cropmarks and it was noted that the pit-like anomalies could be due to natural variations in the subsoil. It was also noted that poor correlation between the cropmarks and the magnetic data could be due to errors in the plotting of the aerial information. [Au] |
