Abstract: |
Archaeological observation of trenching revealed a substantial wall foundation 10m west of the church. This most probably formed the original west end of the Norman nave prior to its shortening in the 17th century. In the field to the south west of the church, which was marked with ridge and furrow, a spread of cobblestones, possibly the remnants of a medieval surface, was revealed. A total of seventeen sherds of Romano-British pottery was recovered from across the site. [Au(abr)] |
