Abstract: |
Examination of trenches being excavated as a prelude to the erection of a new church room was undertaken by the Canterbury Archaeological Trust. A burial was revealed during the archaeological examination, and staining where the coffin lay was seen. There were slight indications of a metal coffin plate. Eleven other burials were uncovered at the site, but these were dealt with without an archaeological presence. The approximate positions of these burials were indicated on a plan by the contractors' workforce. [Au(abr)] |
