Abstract: |
Evaluation trenches to the rear of 42 Wheelgate, Malton demonstrated the survival of pits and post holes dating to the 12th or 13th century. A wall exposed in trench one and traced in plan at the southern side showed that a stone building, possibly of the same date, was incorporated into the 19th century brick building that stood on the site.
