Abstract: |
A watching brief was undertaken on repairs to the City Walls. A 2m long trench was excavated to allow the insertion of tie-bars. The material excavated from the trench would appear to be contemporary with restoration work done in 1888/9 which created the present wall walk. The facing stones of the internal face of the wall were revealed indicating that this wall was not originally obscured by the wall walk. [Au(abr)] |
