Abstract: |
Archaeological observation during the development of land to the rear of the former Anglo-Saxon public house, High Street, Bidford-on-Avon, recorded a few relatively modern features including a pit overlaid by the remains of a sandstone pavement and a pit containing 18th century pottery. No evidence of the Anglo-Saxon cemetery known to exist to the north and north-east, n or any more of the medieval features identified in the evaluation of 1998 were recognised during the groundworks operations.
