Abstract: |
An archaeological watching brief was undertaken during the residential redevelopment of the site. The area was judged to be of archaeological and geo-archaeological importance due to the presence of river terrace gravels in the surrounding region associated with finds of Palaeolithic artefacts. No archaeological features or finds were revealed, neither were any substantial river terrace deposits observed. Evidence of recent levelling to reduce the slope of the site was recorded, and was probably associated with the construction of the former Wades Mews Dairy known to have formerly occupied the site.
