Abstract: |
An archaeological assessment was carried out as part of the approval process for the construction of a power station. The SMR contained 22 sites located in the vicinity of the study area, including an isolated find of a Neolithic axe, ths site of a medieval grange and the site of an early post-medieval hall. Most of the other SMR sites were Listed Buildings. Until the 19th century, the area was entirely rural, urban development only began following the foundation of Fleetwood from the 1830s. [Au(abr)] |
