Abstract: |
The northern part of the site around Radford Street was developed in the mid to late 18th century with back-to-back housing and small scale workshops. The rest of the application area was not developed until the 1830s-40s. The majority of the housing was cleared between 1935 and 1952 with the remaining work buildings demolished by the mid 1960s . There was a moderate potential for the survival of subsurface archaeological features within the proposal area, although the areas surrounding the flats were likely to have been extensively disturbed.
