Abstract: |
The desk-based archaeological assessment in advance of proposed extension of clay mining showed that the site was located in close vicinity to possible prehistoric crop marks. The site was also close to Ermine Street Roman road and situated east of Great Casterton Roman town. In addition, it had a hilltop location, suitable for early settlement. Therefore it was possible that archaeological remains may have been present within the development area. [Au(abr)] |
