Abstract: |
The desk top assessment was undertaken as part of a wider assessment of the environmental impact of the proposed redevelopment of a large compact block of land extending between the A296 Watling Street south to the A2/M2 motorway. The site lay close to the Roman road known as Watling Street which it was expected may have had some influence of the type of archaeological remains that may be present within the study area. Anglo-Saxon inhumation burials had also been recorded in the vicinity which also may have had some impact. [AIP] |
