Abstract: |
An archaeological assessment and subsequent field evaluation was undertaken prior to proposed development. The assessment indicated that the site lay close to the area thought to contain the medieval court of Sadberge and might also contain evidence of Danish settlement. Three trial trenches were excavated and these revealed a high density of archaeological features including two post-in-trench alignments and a large number of shallow trenches. The pottery recovered suggested activity on the site between the 12th century and the present day. [Au(abr)] |
