Abstract: |
A watching brief was maintained on diversion of a foul sewer. Two areas were observed. Archaeological deposits were encountered but the method of excavation and shoring of the shaft meant that these were not observed in any detail. The deposits removed contained cattle bones and cattle horn cores, possibly butchery, tannery or horners' waste. A second section of trench was observed in Eastbourne Place, but no archaeological deposits were seen. [Au] |
