Abstract: |
The study revealed that the site was originally part of three fields, two in the parish of Brislington and the third in Whitchurch. Described as pasture, the fields had been on the same boundaries since at least 1840 and probably from their original enclosure. No archaeological work had taken place in the immediate vicinity of the study area; however, the site lay in an area of extensive Romano-British occupation, which dated from the 1st to 4th centuries.
