Abstract: |
Two geoarchaeological boreholes were sunk and three archaeological evaluation trenches, each including a deep test pit, were excavated on the Sandwich Campus. Sedimentological data of geoarchaeological interest were recovered, providing evidence for the progressive infilling of the Stour estuary. No archaeologically significant features were identified and it was unlikely that any significant archaeology lay within 1.2 metres of the surface in the area around the evaluation trenches. [Au] |
