Abstract: |
A watching brief was carried out on a pair of boreholes undertaken to determine ground conditions. The boreholes were 25m north east of the River Ouse so silts and gravels revealed may represent a period when the river was much wider. Human activity was confirmed by the presence of bone, iron and wood. The boreholes revealed a possible substantial medieval building covered by demolition debris and post-medieval dumps. No firm dating evidence was recovered. [Au(abr)] |
