Abstract: |
A desk-based assessment and brief site inspection were undertaken at a site behind tenements on Brownsfield Road, Yardley Gobion. Evidence discovered placed medieval potteries elsewhere in Yardley Gobion; but there was evidence in the form of field names and wasters, for post-medieval potteries south of Moor End Road-High Street, at no great distance from the development site. There was little archaeological evidence available from the development site itself, apart from very slight burnt remains and its proximity to post-medieval pottery-making sites. Otherwise the review of the archaeological material from the parish showed only slight evidence of pre-medieval activities. [Au(adp)] |
