Abstract:
A watching brief was carried out during the excavation of pile foundations and general groundworks at a development site, which lay on the edge of an area of high archaeological potential relating to the historic spa town of Epsom and earlier settlement. Made ground was encountered in the majority of the pile foundations, whilst the beam trenches revealed that the ground had been heavily disturbed during earlier development at the site. It was concluded that no further archaeological work would be necessary. [Au(abr)]
