Abstract: |
A desk-top assessment was presented in two sections. The first representing a necessarily brief report synthesizing the salient points of previous research in the vicinity of the South Tyne Outfall Interceptor Scheme, including information derived from relevant excavations. The second section split the study area into seven arbitrary zones wherein evidence was presented justifying a programme of archaeological works to be undertaken either prior to, or in conjunction with, the proposed development work.
