Abstract: |
Archaeological excavations were carried out on the site of the former Marston's Brewery, Hyde Street, due to the potential destruction of archaeological deposits by residential development of the area. The excavations uncovered clear evidence of an extra-mural Roman street, together with associated features, including a later Roman cess-pit. Also excavated and recorded were the remains of a post-medieval cellared building and post-medieval pits. [Au(abr)] |
