Abstract: |
A desk based assessment and field survey was undertaken on an area of proposed opencast mining. The proposed development was to strip much of the field pattern of the study area, although there were no features of outstanding quality. A number of 'routeways' were also identified, these appeared associated to specific enterprises and did not merit preservation. However, it was suggested that arrangements should be made for the recording and collection of any ancient workings or artefacts that might be encountered. [Au(abr)] |
